THE CROWN

​Our crown design helps us to place the distribution lines quickly and efficiently.  It also enables us to simultaneously grab all three of the lines, finishing the task before any of our competitors' robots.  Our spotters are trained to put the lines on the mechanism within the first 30 seconds so that the drivers can lay them on the awaiting hooks.  

THE SCISSOR LIFT

The scissor lift is able to raise the crown to reach elevated power line connections.  Created from simple PVC pipes and aluminum poles, our lift extends by a motor, via rope.  Our continuous improvement approach has improved the strength and durability of this feature compared to our original prototype.

THE TRANSMISSION ARM

The transmission arm is used to easily and efficiently place the transmission lines on the power poles when you raise the scissor lift.  It is built out of PVC/PVC sheet and is not attached to a motor.  A spring holds it into place and extends out by remote control. 

THE CONDUIT PUSHER

On the bottom of Striker are two plastic pushers that are used to roll the laid conduits into the trench.  This piece allows us to force all three pipes into the trench at one time.
